The aqua multi trainer – more than just a water barbell
The new aqua multi trainer consists of a bar with two large foam buoyancy bodies on the ends and looks like a barbell. This variable water training device, however, constitutes much more than its shape indicates and is not just a large version of the typical aqua jogging dumbbell. Alongside use in various aqua fitness classes, the multi trainer can also be used for leg strength training at performance level, as a buoyancy aid in swimming lessons and as support in hydrotherapy support with for the disabled. In swimming lessons, you hold it in the arms in a similar way to which you would hold a float; for leg training, you hang your arms loosely over the bar. The water barbell can even be used for targeted training of lateral stability, an important factor for synchronised swimming and water polo.
